Pride And Prejudice And Zombies
by Freddy J. Nager, Founder of Atomic Tango + Guy Who Likes To Think He’s Cultured But Digs On Watching The Walking Dead… I blame Jane Eyre. Although it’s supposedly one of the great works of literature, having to read it for my 10th grade English class made me feel like I was locked in an attic somewhere, going totally mad as the pages plodded on, while screaming, “OH COME ON, JANE – JUST STAND UP FOR YOURSELF ALREADY AND PUNCH SOMEONE!” Who knew I was a budding feminist atRead More
Fear The Walking Dead
by Freddy J. Nager, Founder of Atomic Tango + Recovering Hate Watcher… I recently fell in love with a new term. And, thankfully, it’s not “sharing economy.” “Hate watching” has been around for a few years (yeah, I’m slow on the uptake). In case you’re not familiar with the term, that infinite fount of wisdom knowledge hearsay, Wikipedia, defines it as “watching a television show while simultaneously hating its content or subject.” I may have to update that definition, because it should include movie sequels and, more significantly, two keyRead More
I love the adrenaline-fueled rush of a good scare… provided it comes via screen. Unfortunately, most American horror movies and TV shows indulge more in torture and gore than actual chills and thrills. by Freddy J. Nager, Founder of Atomic Tango LLC + Member of the Living (for now)… To prep for a video I’m producing, I watched Undead or Alive, the 2007 comedy-horror flick about zombies in the old west. It’s moderately entertaining, with Chris Kattan as a cowboy wannabe and Navi Rawat as the intellectual kung-fu fighting Native-American babe. The hitch in this giddyap? The zombies themselves. Although they have more dialogue than most zombies (better agents, perhaps?), they’re still just another iteration of the lumbering brain eaters who have populatedRead More
The Outbreak Interactive Zombie Movie
by Freddy Tran Nager, Founder of Atomic Tango + Aficionado of Undead Entertainment… Ever watch a horror film and yell at the characters, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Well, smarty, now you can put yourself in the characters’ bloody shoes with the online zombie flick The Outbreak… The interactive horror short lets you make key decisions for the characters and see the results. For example, in one scene an annoying character breaks her leg while zombies are attacking. If this were a normal film, you might be cheering loudly for the zombies.Read More
